Pune: Hotel Administration Faces Legal Action for Non-Deposit of Workers’ Provident Fund, FIR Registered Against Owner
Balewadi, 6th December 2023: The administration of Ramada Plaza in Balewadi is facing legal consequences as a case has been registered against the hotel directors, Vaibhav Lamba and Sharad Shrimant Yadav. The case pertains to the non-deposit of workers’ Provident Fund (PF) between December 2021 and January 2023.
A 56-year-old woman, presumably one of the affected workers, filed a complaint at Hinjawadi police station, alleging that the hotel administration deducted Rs 33,968 from the salaries of workers under the guise of Provident Fund contributions. However, the accused failed to deposit the deducted amount in the Provident Fund office, leading to financial losses for the workers.
In response to the complaint, the police have registered a case against the hotel directors for embezzling funds and betraying both the workers and the government.
