Chinchwad, 22nd October 2023: In a recent event at Shree Jain Vidya Prasarak Mandal in Chinchwad, NCP President Sharad Pawar lauded the transformation of Hinjewadi, which was initially meant to host a sugar factory but is now a thriving IT park. He remarked on the change the city has undergone since the inception of the IT Park, likening it to England and America. The event was attended by notable figures, including MP Srirang Barane, Srinivas Patil, former mayor Azam Pansare, and former corporator Bhausaheb Bhoir.

Sharad Pawar reminisced about the inception of the IT Park, saying, “In Hinjewadi, people wanted to build a sugar factory. I performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the factory and said in the speech that there would be no factory here. Another place was given instead of Hinjewadi. IT Hub was created in Hinjewadi. Today, when you go to Hinjewadi, it seems that you have come to England, America. One lakh people are working there.”

The NCP President highlighted the transition of Pimpri-Chinchwad from an industrial town, known for companies like Telco and Bajaj, to a burgeoning IT hub with a global presence. “Once Pimpri-Chinchwad was an industrial town. Telco and Bajaj companies were doing very well. Now it has become an IT hub after industrial and educational development,” Pawar stated.
