Pune: Hinjawadi High-End Society in Shock as Rs 7.5 Lakhs Fraud Unfolds; Police Launch Investigation

Hinjawadi, 4th July 2024: Residents of a high-end housing society in Hinjawadi have approached the Pimpri Chinchwad Police following a scam that defrauded them of over Rs 7.5 lakhs intended for society maintenance. The fraudulent incident occurred on 23rd May 2024 and echoes a similar occurrence in 2020 within Blue Ridge Township, Hinjawadi.

Kiyat Jayprakash Nair, aged 60 and residing in Blue Ridge Township, filed a complaint at Hinjawadi Police Station. The police have registered a case against Govind Baliram Kamble, a resident of Dharashiv, and Hansraj Kale (details incomplete), under IPC Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).

According to police reports, the society’s maintenance, managed by Munis, entrusted Govind, an employee, with a check amounting to Rs 33,570. Govind allegedly manipulated the check, depositing Rs 7,70,000 into Hansraj’s account. Police Sub Inspector Jhol from Hinjawadi Police Station is actively investigating the case.
