Pune, 6th August 2023: The allure of Sinhagad’s natural beauty and delectable cuisine drew a substantial influx of tourists this Sunday, causing a confluence of issues including a packed railway station, resulting in a bottleneck on the Ghat road.

Visitors were visibly irked as the Forest Committee employees halted vehicles near the Kondhanpur phata on the Ghat road in an effort to alleviate the traffic congestion. Unfortunately, this recurring predicament has yet to spur concrete actions from the local administration.

Unrelenting heavy rainfall has transformed the ambiance at Sinhagad into a picturesque spectacle. Over the last month and a half, an estimated average of fifteen to twenty thousand tourists have been making their way to Sinhagad every Saturday and Sunday to bask in nature’s splendor and savor its culinary delights. Consequently, post noon, the parking lot reaches full capacity, leading to a queue of vehicles spanning one to two kilometers along the Ghat road.

Numerous tourists opt to park their vehicles on the Ghat road and traverse on foot to the fort, inadvertently causing hindrances for other vehicles. Consequently, unfortunate visitors are ensnared in traffic jams for two to three hours. Additionally, a dense fog envelopes the area a short distance from Kondhanpur phata, further contributing to sluggish traffic.

Tensions flare between motorcyclists and motorists amidst the traffic gridlock. Regrettably, the concerned administration appears to be merely postponing the issue without enacting substantial resolutions.
