Indapur, 30th August 2024: Political developments have accelerated with the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Elections, and political leaders are making strategic moves to secure the best outcomes for themselves. In this context, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may face a setback in Indapur, as there is widespread speculation that Harshvardhan Patil might join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) under Sharad Chandra Pawar’s leadership. Today, Patil’s statements have fueled these rumours, as he indirectly targeted Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar.

Harshvardhan Patil said, “The people’s demands are crucial because any party relies on the support of the people. Ultimately, it is the people’s voice that matters. Their opinion is important. Our journey continues along these lines. Currently, we are with the Mahayuti alliance. Some leaders within Mahayuti had assured me of certain things. So, I will meet with them to understand the reality of the situation.”

Patil continued by emphasizing the importance of democracy and the right of everyone to have their own opinions. He stated that he alone cannot make any decisions and revealed that once his ongoing tour concludes, he will meet with key individuals to engage in discussions and exchange ideas. Highlighting the importance of making decisions with the people’s trust in mind, he said that future discussions will be approached with this in focus.

Following the central government’s decision to produce ethanol from molasses, Harshvardhan Patil said, “We have been working on this for the past six months. We also met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding this matter. We spoke to him during an event in Mumbai on August 10 and at a previous event in Delhi. Finally, a decision was made on this yesterday. Sugarcane farmers will benefit from the central government’s decision to produce ethanol from molasses for the upcoming 2024-25 fall season.”

“Some of the Parties in Mahayuti…”

Indirectly targeting Ajit Pawar, Harshvardhan Patil said, “Three parties came together under the Mahayuti alliance. Now, one of these parties has started announcing its candidates in some constituencies. In our constituency as well, two days ago, he made statements like, ‘We will fight again,’ and so on. So, has the final decision been made regarding seat allocation in the Mahayuti or not? What exactly has been decided? We have no clarity on this. Therefore, we plan to discuss these issues with the senior leaders.”
