Pune: Hadapsar Police Solves 50 Theft Cases, Stolen Valuables Worth Rs 29 Lakh Recovered

Pune, November 19, 2020: Pune City Police have claimed to solve as many as 50 cases after arresting two 19-year-old youths for allegedly breaking into locked houses during the Diwali season.

The accused have been identified as Sunny Singh Papasingh Dudhani (19), Sohail Javed Shaikh (19), both residents of Hadapsar. The Hadapsar police station has arrested both the accused on the night of November 12.

According to police officials, Dudhani has committed at least 50 crimes since he was a minor. The accused used to target all the homes locked and decamp with all the ornaments. Meanwhile, both the accused have a previous history of vehicle theft and burglary as well.

Acting on a tip-off, the Hadapsar police nabbed both the accused and a minor accomplice from Mhada Colony in Hadapsar.

Police have recovered gold ornaments, three and a half kilogram of silver, and five vehicles from their possession, totally worth Rs 29 Lakh.

The probe has also revealed that eleven cases of burglary, five cases of vehicle theft have been detected by the thieves, informed Balkrishna Kadam, Senior Police Inspector. It has also been confirmed that the thief was using the stolen car to commit burglary.
