Pune: Hadapsar Police Solve Two-Wheeler Theft Cases, Seize Stolen Vehicles

Hadapsar, 29th January 2024: The Detection Branch (DB) of Hadapsar Police Station successfully cracked cases of two-wheeler theft, including burglary, and recovered all stolen assets.

The breakthrough came after the house of complainant Omkar Vilas Jagtap in Phursungi, Pune, was burgled on January 23, 2024, between 01:00 am to 06:30 am.

An unidentified individual had forcefully entered the residence by breaking the door lock, leading to the theft of items valued at Rs 3,40,700, including gold jewellery, a diamond ring, cash, and other materials. Subsequently, a case under sections 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night to commit an offence) and 380 (Theft in dwelling house) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the unknown culprit.

Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale, Police Sub-Inspector Avinash Shinde, and policemen Anirudh Sonwane, Prashant Dudhaal, and Nikhil Pawar, initiated an investigation based on CCTV footage obtained from the crime scene. With the help of confidential information gathered through the DB and CCTV footage analysis, the following suspects were identified:

1. Rishikesh Santosh Mote, aged 20, residing in Phursungi
2. Pradeep Bhagwat Paul, aged 20, residing in Phursungi
3. Krishna Bhima Paval, aged 19, residing in Phursungi

Upon detaining and interrogating the suspects, all three were found to be involved in the crime and were subsequently arrested. During the police custody, 100 per cent of the stolen property, valued at Rs 3,40,700, was recovered from accused Rishikesh Mote.

Additionally, during further investigation, a Hero Passion Pro Motorcycle worth Rs. 50,000 and two other stolen vehicles worth Rs. 1,50,000 were recovered from the accused, solving a total of three crimes. The combined value of the recovered assets amounts to Rs. 5,40,700.

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 5) R Raja, ACP (Hadapsar division) Ashwini Rakh and Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke, in-charge of Hadapsar police station.
