Pune: Girl Suffers Chemical Burn Injuries On Face, Youth Arrested For Throwing Acid-Like Chemical

Pune, November 24, 2020: An 18-year-old girl suffered burn injuries on her face after her boy friend threw an acid-like chemical on her in Parvati Darshan area on Monday morning. Police have arrested the attacker who is her friend from school days.

According to Dattawadi police, accused Abujar Ayaz Tamboli and the girl were good friends. She got married in June and recently came to her mother’s house. The accused called her to meet. After his repeated requests, she met him around 8 am in Parvati Darshan on Monday.

A police officer said, “The girl told him not to call or follow her as she is married. This led to an argument between the two. The accused threw acid-like chemical on the young woman. She got injured in the attack and has been admitted to Sassoon Hospital for treatment. Her condition is out of danger. The accused has been arrested.”
