Pune: Fraudsters Dupe Senior Citizen Of Rs 55 Lakh In Pune Online Scam
Pune, 2nd May 2023: In yet another case of online fraud in Pune, a senior citizen woman has been cheated of Rs 55 lakh by a group of fraudsters. The fraudsters gained her trust by promising her a huge benefit by taking out a life policy and assuring her that they were bank employees.
The woman was then instructed to deposit money in various bank accounts, which turned out to be fake. The fraud continued from 2014 to 2019, and when the victim realized that she had been cheated, she filed a complaint with the police.
The police have registered cases against seven mobile phone owners in connection with the fraud. However, the identities of the real culprits have yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
This is not an isolated case, as the number of online fraud cases is increasing day by day in Pune city.
