Bibwewadi, 5th September 2024: A four-year-old boy was beaten to death by his mother’s boyfriend after the child vomited on him. The incident came to light during the postmortem, leading to the boyfriend’s arrest by the Bibwewadi police.

The accused has been identified as Mahesh Kumbhar and the deceased child as Vedansh Kale.

The mother, Pallavi, fabricated a story claiming that Vedansh had fallen from the bed and pretended that he had lost consciousness. She then admitted him to Kamla Nehru Hospital in Mangalwar Peth. However, the post-mortem report revealed that Vedansh’s death was due to the beating, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

Pallavi had been living in the Bibwewadi area for three months and was in a relationship with Mahesh Kumbhar from Nashik. On 1st September, after Vedansh suddenly vomited after dinner, Mahesh became enraged and beat him with his hands and a broom. When Vedansh lost consciousness, they first took him to the Civil Hospital in Nashik and then to Kamla Nehru Hospital in Mangalwar Peth, where he later died during treatment.

Fearing the truth would come out, Pallavi and Mahesh falsely claimed that Vedansh had fallen off the bed. However, the post-mortem report exposed their lie.
