Pune: Four TMC Water Enough For Four Months Leaking From Water Channels: Chandrakant Patil
Pune, 16th May 2023: 11 TMC of water per annum is sanctioned for Pune City. However, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) uses 20 TMC of water. Pune’s Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil explained that as much as four TMC of water is leaking from the water channels which is enough for the city for four months.
Guardian Minister Patil said that due to large leakages in the Pune water supply, a similar water supply scheme has been introduced. 85 tanks are planned under this scheme and 60 of them have been completed.
After 11 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the JICA Project, the recycled water will be given to the industries and the water of the industries will be taken for the city. Talks have been held with Chakan MIDC in this regard and talks are going on with Ranjangaon MIDC. Guardian Minister Patil said that only recycled water.will be given to the industries.
