Pimpri Chinchwad, 23rd July 2024: Through the Maharashtra Government’s Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) Policy, a new IT park is being developed at Pride World City in Charholi Budruk. This initiative is expected to create 50,000 job opportunities.

The foundation for the IT park at Pride World City in Charholi Budruk was laid by Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge and Credai Vice President Arvind Jain, with many prominent builders in attendance. In 2023, a plan was made to start another IT park in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area, which has emerged as an industrial city, auto hub, and IT hub. Meetings have been held with Credai and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) regarding this project, and work has begun accordingly.

What is the IT and ITES Policy?

The policy focuses on developing IT parks, IT products, innovative technologies, and integrated IT cities for the comprehensive expansion of IT and IT support services in Maharashtra. It includes various benefits such as stamp duty exemptions, energy streamlining, property tax concessions, electricity bill reductions, market development assistance, permission to develop IT zones in green or development areas, essential service quality, infrastructure improvements, and additional carpet areas. The government encourages the development of 50% IT and 50% mixed-use projects on 10 acres of land.

Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated, “After the BJP came to power in the PCMC, development in the included villages received a significant boost. The construction sector in these villages developed rapidly due to improved communication and infrastructure facilities, including roads, water, electricity, and waste management. According to the new IT policy of the state government, an IT city is being developed in Charholi Budruk. This will attract massive investment and generate substantial employment in the IT and ITES services sectors.”
