Pune: Former MNS Leader Vasant More to Join Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena on July 9; Targets Hadapsar and Khadakwasla for Elections

Mumbai/Pune, 4th July 2024: This morning, Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) member Sanjay Raut announced that Pune political leader Vasant More will soon join the party. Following this, More met with Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray at his Matoshree bungalow and declared that he would officially join the party on July 9th. More also expressed his intentions to contest the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections from the Hadapsar or Khadakwasla constituencies in Pune.

Vasant More stated, “There are two options for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. For the upcoming elections, I can contest from both Hadapsar and Khadakwasla. Even though Pune was not my area, I still received many votes. The first case was registered against me when I was in Shiv Sena. I won’t change; I will work for the people and their welfare. Shiv Sena has power in the city and outside too. They have 10 corporators. They have power outside.”

After joining the Uddhav Sena, Vasant More is likely to receive an MLA ticket from either the Hadapsar or Khadakwasla constituencies. More met with Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree Bungalow today for an important discussion. In the last General Elections, Vasant More was supported by Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency, but he was defeated by a significant margin. Now, it has been revealed that he will join the Uddhav Sena.

Vasant More is known as a leader who is elected on his own merits. He was a loyal commander of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray before deciding to leave. He actively participated in every movement of MNS. Vasant More’s work was widely appreciated during the COVID-19 crisis. His public service was highlighted on social media through videos, earning him recognition across Maharashtra.
