Pune : Foreigner woman gangraped after taking lift from unknown persons

Pune, December 24, 2019: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman from Uganda was allegedly gangraped after she took life from two unknown persons on bike outside Agent Jack’s in Koregaon Park area.
The woman has lodged FIR with Vimantal police station under Pune city police.
According to police, the woman had come to India on tourist visa in August this year. Around 7.30 pm on Monday she had gone for dinner. Around midnight she booked a cab and was talking to the driver, when an unidentified man came to her on a bike and offered to give her lift. He also called his friend and they began riding triple seat on the bike with woman sitting in between the two men.
The accused took her to an isolated area on the road to DY Patil College in Lohegaon and raped her.
In her statement to police, the woman said that after she requested them to drop her on main road, they were taking her there. She raised an alarm after seeing some youths on the road. The bike driver lost balance and they fell down. The accused fled when the youths approached them. Later she lodged complaint with police.
DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh, Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar are supervising the investigation in the case.
