Pune Flooding Causes Wall Collapses, Tree Fall, Waterlogging; Fire Brigade Takes Action

Pune, 25th July 2024: From 7 AM yesterday (July 24) to 7 AM today (July 25), the Pune Fire Brigade Control Room has reported several incidents related to the heavy rainfall:

Tree Collapses: 45 incidents

Building Collapses: 2 incidents (one wall collapsed in Bhawani Peth and another near the Burning Ghats in Koregaon Park)

Water Ingress: 6 incidents (involving areas such as Warje, Swami Vivekanand Society, Futera Society, Shivane, Sadguru Society on Sinhagad Road, and several societies like Sarita Nagari, Ekta Nagari, as well as locations near riverside road, Rajput Brick Kiln Erandwane, and Chandtara Chowk in Shivajinagar)

Fire Brigade officials and personnel are actively working at the affected sites, providing support to stranded residents and ensuring their safe relocation.

There have been no reports of injuries or casualties in any of the incidents so far.

Following bridges and underpasses are closed:

1. Bhide bridge
2. Jaywantrao Tilak bridge
3. Old Holkar bridge
4. Old Manjri bridge
5. Poultry underpass
6. Church underpass
7. Bopodi underpass
8. N Ta wadi underpass
9. Sancheti underpass
