Pune Flood Crisis: Army Sends 100+ Personnel to Ekta Nagar for Rescue Operations

Pune, 4th August 2024: As heavy rains persist, causing widespread flooding in Pune, the Army has deployed a specialized relief column to Ekta Nagar, on the request of the Pune District Collector, to manage the crisis in low-lying areas. The operation aims to address the escalating situation and provide much-needed assistance to the affected residents.

The Army Relief Column, comprising over 100 personnel, includes Infantry Troops, an Engineer Task Force from the Bombay Engineers Group (BEG), and medical staff from Military Hospital (MH) Khadki. The team is equipped with essential resources, including rescue boats, a quadcopter for aerial surveillance, and other vital equipment designed to facilitate immediate aid and restore normalcy.

Additional relief teams are on standby, ready to be mobilized if the situation further deteriorates or if additional assistance is required, informed Defence PRO of Southern Command Headquarters.
