Pune: Fire Brigade Rescues Six Trapped Individuals From Sassoon Hospital Lift

Pune, 3rd November 2023: Sassoon Hospital’s new building experienced a stuck elevator today at 11:50 a.m., triggering a prompt response from the fire brigade control room. The swift and coordinated efforts of the fire brigade ensured the safe rescue of six individuals trapped within the elevator.

 

 

According to officials, firefighters ascended to the building’s roof, initiating efforts to access the elevator room and address the distress of the trapped occupants. Sensing the urgency and suffocating conditions, responders promptly arranged for a fan to improve air circulation, prioritizing the trapped individuals’ respiratory well-being.

 

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, firefighters, alongside Omega company lift personnel, maneuvered the lift door and successfully guided it to the seventh floor, resetting the system.

 

The elevator, holding six individuals, was wedged between the fourth and fifth floors of Sassoon Hospital’s new building. Firefighters on the scene reassured those trapped, offering support and assistance, stating, “Don’t panic; we are here.”

 

This rescue operation was led by Fire Officers Sanjay Ramteke and Prashant Gaikar, with drivers Sachin Chavan, Omkar Sakhre, and Tandel Sunil Name, along with firefighters Bhushan Sonawane, Ketan Narke, Paresh Jadhav, and Akshay Shinde.
