Pune: Financial Dispute Escalates Into Murder in Talegaon; Youth Killed, Accused Arrested
Talegaon Dabhade, 23 September 2024: A youth was murdered in Pune’s Talegaon Dabhade over a money-lending dispute. The victim was killed by a blow to the head with a stone by the accused. Murders and violent attacks have been occurring frequently within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), and this latest incident contributes to the increasing number of killings over insignificant issues.
The deceased has been identified as Abhinandan Sara, and the Talegaon MIDC Police have detained Pramod Kumar, 23.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2), Vishal Gaikwad, both Abhinandan and Pramod are natives of Bihar. For the past few months, they had been residing in Talegaon MIDC, Pune District, for work. Abhinandan worked for a private company in Nanoli, and ongoing financial disputes had created tension between the two.
Last night, an argument escalated, resulting in Pramod striking Abhinandan on the head with a stone, which led to Abhinandan’s death. Upon receiving the report, officers from Talegaon MIDC Police Station, along with the PCPC Crime Branch, arrived at the scene and detained Pramod Kumar, who has confessed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
