Pune: Final CMRS Inspection Of Two Metro Routes Successfully Completed, Safety Compliance Certificate Expected Next Week

Pune 23rd July 2023: The final inspection for the safety check of two metro routes between Ruby Hall Clinic to Garware College and Civil Court to Phugewadi has been successfully completed on Saturday. The Commissioner Of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) team has concluded the inspection, said officials.

The metro officials are now waiting for the safety compliance certificate from CMRS after which the passengers service on these two routes can be launched. With the launch of passenger service on these two routes, the Metro will connect Pune with Pimpri Chinchwad and some important places of the city.

Ruby Hall Clinic to Garware College Metro station stretch having a length of 4.7 km has a total of 7 metro stations connecting important places like Railway Station, Pune Municipal Corporation and RTO office while Civil Court and Phugewadi stretch covering 6.9 km distance has a total of four metro stations and this stretch will connect Pune with Pimpri Chinhwad.

According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is scheduled to visit Pune on August 1 is likely to inaugurate the two new stretches of Pune Metro. PM is visiting Pune to receive Lokmanya Tilak National Award. Metro officials are expecting CMRS safety compliance certificate in the next week hence it is very likely that PM will inaugurate the two new metro routes. It may be noted that Prime Minister last year had inaugurated the two metro routes between Garware College to Vanaz and Phugewadi to Pimpri Chinhwad.
