Chinchwad, 11th July 2024: Over 100 parents gathered at FIIT JEE Chinchwad, a private coaching centre for classes 8 to 12, which abruptly stopped operations yesterday.

A distressed parent said that she paid over Rs 2 lakhs in February 2024, but classes only commenced in June 2024. She mentioned that just days before, they were informed that the management was in trouble because the headquarters hadn’t released teachers’ salaries or paid the premises rent. For the past few days, class schedules were also disordered.

Yesterday, the centre unexpectedly closed its doors without notifying parents. Each parent likely paid around Rs 1.5 lakhs, and now all that money seems to be lost.

Another parent reported that similar issues are being faced by parents of students at the Swargate branch, where over 150 parents are in a similar predicament.

The parents have filed a complaint at the Chinchwad Police Station, and an investigation is ongoing.

Despite their efforts to contact the headquarters, parents have received no response. They are now seeking refunds and demanding severe penalties for the organization for deceiving numerous students and jeopardizing their futures.
