Pune: Fiancé runs away from the marriage registrar office with Passport and Aadhar card; FIR registered

Pune, 1 March 2021: A man who had come to marry his fiancée at the Pune marriage registrar’s office ran away at the last moment. He ran away with documents like Adhar Card, Passport, Driving license, and educational documents of the girl.
The couple had come to register their marriage when fiancée told him that she wanted to go to the washroom. When she did, he ran away with the documents.
A case of rape and cheating has been filed by a 28-year-old Panaji-based girl against Tejas Suresh Shelar (Rasai Bungalow, Erandwane), his accomplices Yashwantrao Papal (35), and Abhishek Papal (33).
According to the police, the girl had come to Pune for her job when through a common friend she got acquainted with the accused.
Later both fell in love with each other and Tejas promised her of marriage. Since 2019, he kept physical relations with her. In January 2021, when Tejas and the girl had gone to Nashik, his accomplices in police disguise entered their room and snatched the girl’s mobile, voter identity card.
When the girl insisted upon the marriage, Tejas promised her that on February 13, both will get married. And thus, both had come to the marriage registrar’s office. The girl works in a private company while Tejas is working as an assistant with an advocate.
Police sub-inspector Tejsvi Patil is further investigating the case.
