Pune: Few Hours Of Rain Causes Water Logging At Many Places In City, Metro Roof Starts Leaking Near Ruby Hall

Pune, 24th Sept 2023: The city received a heavy rain after a long dry spell on Saturday but a few hours of heavy rain also exposed the worst condition of city infrastructure as many areas reported waterlogging which also caused traffic congestion. The recently inaugurated metro stretch also added to the problem as the roof of one such metro station had also started leaking near the Ruby Hall Clinic.

Waterlogging was reported in various parts of the city including Vimannagar, Wagholi, Lohegaon, Koregaon Park, Kothrud reported waterlogging while metro roof leakage was reported near Ruby Hall Clinic. The busy Pune-Ahmednagar road was also flooded at some points making it difficult for commuters to ride which also affected the traffic movement for some time.

The fire brigade department attended to a total of nine tree fall incidents including those reported from Warje, Navi Peth, Bibvewadi, Pashan, Wanawadi, Hingne Khurd, Kasba Peth, Kothrud and Wakdewadi areas. The celebration of the ganesh festival was also impacted as waterlogging was also reported near the ganesh pandals at few places in the city.
