Pune: Fatal Accident on Wakad-Bhosari BRTS Route in Pimple Saudagar, Investigation Underway
Pimple Saudagar, 16th August 2024: In Pimpri Chinchwad’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, another accident occurred, resulting in one death. A car and a two-wheeler collided on the BRT route near Govind Garden on the Wakad-Bhosari BRTS route in Pimple Saudagar. The accident happened yesterday at 9:15 AM. Police Constable Rahul Harinath Sutar reported the incident to the Sangvi Police Station.
A case has been filed under BNS Sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 125 (acts endangering life or personal safety of others), 324 (mischief), and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988. Car driver Shiv Kumar Kodgire and two-wheeler driver Parth Vaibhav Kale have been named as the accused. Harish Sharma, who was seated behind on the two-wheeler, was seriously injured and has succumbed to his injuries. Both vehicles were severely damaged.
A case has been registered because private vehicles are not allowed on the BRTS routes, and the Pimpri-Chinchwad police are taking action to enforce this rule. Police Sub Inspector Mhaisale from Sangvi Police Station is investigating the matter further.
