Pune: Fatal Accident Narrowly Avoided as Drunk Driver Loses Control on Sinhagad Road

Khadakwasla, 26th March 2024: A harrowing incident took place as a drunk driver lost control of a vehicle between Nanded Fata and Kirkatwadi on Sinhagad road. The accident occurred when the car, travelling at high speed, breached the divider and collided head-on with oncoming traffic.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the car, carrying intoxicated youths, was speeding towards Pune from the Khadakwasla side around 9.15 pm on Monday. As it approached the National Water Academy gate, the driver’s loss of control led to a collision with the divider, propelling the vehicle into the opposite lane.

Thankfully, despite the severity of the impact, there were no fatalities. Several citizens on two-wheelers who were traveling towards Khadakwasla managed to evade the oncoming car, narrowly escaping harm. However, one individual on a two-wheeler sustained minor leg injuries.

The car was extensively damaged, and the occupants, visibly affected by the crash, struggled to maintain their balance.
