Pune: Fake Kapil Sharma Call Leads to Molestation in Kalyani Nagar; Yerawada Police Launch Probe
Pune, 24th November 2023: In a disturbing incident that unfolded between 12:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Wednesday (23rd) in Kalyani Nagar, a 27-year-old woman fell victim to molestation through repeated calls from an unknown number falsely claiming to be Indian comedian and television host Kapil Sharma. The case has been officially registered at Yerawada Police Station.
The complainant, residing in an upscale society in Kalyani Nagar, received ten calls while at her workplace. The accused impersonated Kapil Sharma, referencing a supposed meeting at an Oyo Hotel and inquiring about someone named Dipak.
Upon learning of the distressing calls, the woman promptly informed her husband, who then took the phone and confronted the caller. In response, the accused made obscene remarks about the woman and further targeted the husband with abusive language directed at his mother and sister.
The Yerawada Police are actively investigating the case, focusing on the unknown mobile number holder who was falsely identified as Kapil Sharma.
