Shirur, 15th December 2023: A significant breakthrough occurred as the police successfully dismantled a fake currency printing operation in the Ranjangaon MIDC area of Pune district. The operation resulted in the arrest of one individual, but authorities suspect the involvement of a larger network possibly extending to Delhi.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Manish Amar Pal, a 24-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh. The arrest was made by the MIDC police during a raid on a fake currency printing press. The case has been registered against the accused at the Ranjangaon MIDC Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off about the production of counterfeit notes in the Karegaon area, the police set up a trap near Yazaki Company at 1 Yash Inn Chowk. The arrest was made as the police intercepted the suspect at the Ranjangaon MIDC Police Station. The investigation indicates that the fake currency racket may have connections to Delhi.

During the operation, authorities seized a total of Rs 30,000 worth of counterfeit currency, including 60 Rs 500 notes, from the arrested individual. The successful intervention not only thwarted the illegal operation but also led to the discovery of a potential link between the local counterfeit network and a broader network in Delhi.

Ranjangaon MIDC police are investigating the matter further.
