Pune: Excise Dept Conducts Special Drive Against Illegal Sale Of Liquor On Friday, 48 Arrested And 45 Cases Registered In A Day
Pune 7th Oct 2023: The excise department teams from Pune division conducted an extensive operation against the sale and procurement of illegal liquor in the region and seized liquor and raw material worth Rs 54.94 lakh during the raids. The officials conducted raids at various locations in the matter and a total of 45 cases were registered while 48 accused were also arrested.
The seized liquor also includes the liquor manufactured in Goa and prohibited for sale outside Goa. Besides, the officials also raided locations of manufacturers of country made liquors. The seized material include country made liquor, foreign liquor, Beer, Wines, Liquor banned for sale outside Goa, illicit liquor, taadi and raw material to manufacture liquor. The vehicles used for the transport of this liquor was also seized.
The special drive was conducted by the crime branch team of the state excise department’s Pune division. The officials said that the drive will continue and action will be taken against the accused involved in sale and procurement of illegal liquor in Pune region.
