Pune: Ex-PCMC Officer Booked in Rs 50 Lakh Disproportionate Assets Case

Wakad, 25th October 2024: In an action by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), a disproportionate asset (DA) case has been registered against the former accounts officer of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for possessing ₹50.40 lakhs of undisclosed income, which is more than 102.69% above his legal earnings. A case was filed earlier today at Wakad Police Station against the Chief Accounts Officer and his wife.

The accounts officer has been identified as Kishore Baburao Shinge (retired, former Chief Accounts Officer of the Water Supply Department, PCMC) and his wife, Bhagyashree. Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhuri Bhosale of Pune ACB reported this to Wakad Police Station, where a case was registered under IPC Section 109 and relevant sections of The Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.

According to information provided by Deputy Superintendent of Police Dayanand Gawade, public servant Kishore Shinge, who retired in 2017 after working for 30 years, was found to have an undisclosed income of ₹50,40,264, which is 102.69% more than his legally earned income. He has not been able to justify this income, and after multiple notices and warnings from the ACB, a case was registered against him and his wife.

This action was taken under the guidance of Pune Superintendent of Police of ACB Shirish Deshpande and Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Sheetal Janve.
