Pune: Eleven-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Indrayani River, Father Accused Of Negligence

Alandi, 14th June 2023: An eleven-year-old boy lost his life after being left alone by his father on the bank of the Indrayani river. The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 8 at Mauli Mandir in Alandi, Pune.

A case has been registered against the child’s father in connection with the tragic incident.

The accused father, identified as Vinayak Dhondiram Ipar (31 years old, resident of Bhugaon, Mulshi), has been named in the complaint filed by the child’s mother at Alandi police station.

According to the complaint, the father was aware that the child did not know how to swim, yet he took him to the Indrayani river area.
Subsequently, the father abandoned the boy on the riverbank and crossed to the other side. Tragically, the boy drowned while left unattended. The mother holds the father responsible for the untimely demise of their child, as stated in the complaint.

A case has been registered at Alandi Police Station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
