Pune: Elderly Lady Robbed With Lure Of Free Clothes In Rahatani

Rahatani, 19th December 2022: On Sunday (18th), in an incident at Rahatani, a 70-year-old woman was tricked by two individuals on the pretext of free clothes.

 

The individuals told the woman their boss had a son after 12 years and was distributing free clothes. The woman in question filed a complaint with the Wakad police station, and a case has been registered against the two unknown individuals.

 

According to the police, the complainant travelled to Pimpri and was waiting for a rickshaw at Rahatani to buy groceries. At this point, an individual showed up and informed the prosecutor that, after 12 years, his Sheth (boss) had a son. So, poor people are getting free clothes. The man brought the complainant with him in front of Crown Bakery, where another man was seated and inquired about the plaintiff’s poverty, asking if she spoke Marathi.

 

In addition to stealing Rs 7,000 in cash from the plaintiff’s bag, both took two gold necklaces weighing 20 grams worth Rs 50,000 from her neck. The Wakad police station has registered a case, and further investigation is underway.
