Pune: Eight Crore Fund Sanctioned For Sangvi Water Supply Scheme
Sangvi, 20th May 2023: Compared to Baramati city, the officials are trying to provide various facilities including drinking water to the villagers in rural areas like Sangvi. Accordingly, a fund of Rs eight crore has been approved for an improved water supply scheme in Sangvi under the Life Authority Department.
It was said that this work will start by the end of May. Therefore, the officials of the village have also focused on the village of Sangvi as development works like drinking water, sewage, roads, lighting, health, and education are carried out.
Considering the growing population of Sangvi, Ajit Pawar has approved a fund of Rs eight crore for an improved water supply scheme at the government level on 11th May 2022.
A new storage tank of 21 million litres capacity will be constructed in it. The old pond built in 1990 will be moved aside and a new storage pond will be constructed there. A water tank with a capacity of 3.10 lakh litres will be constructed in it.
Apart from this, an 11.5-kilometre pipeline will be laid to improve the water distribution system. There is a plan to lay a new pipeline of 5.5 kilometres from Neera Dava Canal to Sangvi Storage Lake. The contract for the said work is received by the RB Krishna Company and the administration intends to start the said work by the end of this May. A meeting of the office bearers of the Gram Panchayat will be held soon in this regard.
In this regard, Sarpanch Chandrakant Taware informed that while Baramati city is developing in all aspects, the face of Sangvi, Malegaon, Neeravagaj, etc, villages in rural areas are changing. Due to the large population, as well as the social and political environment, development work in Sangvi has added importance.
“Accordingly, we office bearers are working to make the approved improved water supply plan more useful to the people of Sangvi,” he added.
