Pune: Drunken Disturbance Leads to Arrest of IT Engineer and His Brother in Ghorpadi
Ghorpadi, 10th September 2024: An IT engineer caused a disturbance while intoxicated on a road. When a policeman attempted to calm him down, the IT engineer assaulted him instead. This incident occurred on BT Kawade Road in Ghorpadi, Pune. The IT engineer has been arrested by Wanowrie Police.
The individuals arrested in this case are Nayan Shivaji Bhandalkar (25) and Ashish Shivaji Bhandalkar (22), both residents of BT Kawade Road. A case has also been registered against three accomplices of the Bhandalkars. Police Constable Aniket Wable has reported this incident to Wanowrie
According to the police, Nayan Bhandalkar is an IT engineer, while his brother Ashish is a student. Around 2:00 PM yesterday, citizens reported to the police control room that a group of people were drinking alcohol and creating a disturbance in front of the Rosary Society on BT Kawade Road in Ghorpadi. Upon receiving this information, Police Constable Wable and his colleagues responded promptly.
When they arrived, Bhandalkar was shouting. Constable Wable and his team attempted to calm him down, but Bhandalkar and his brother, who was with him, verbally abused Wable and pushed him. The three friends accompanying Bhandalkar ran away. Bhandalkar and his brother were arrested for obstructing government duties. Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Patange of Wanowrie Police Station reported that the court has ordered both to remain in police custody for three days.
