Pune: DRDO Scientist Pradeep Kurulkar Moves Bail Application, Claims Info Shared With Pak Agent Was Available In Public Domain
Pune 3rd August 2023: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist Pradeep Kurulkar who was arrested in espionage case from Pune has moved a bail application before the special court in Pune on Wednesday. He has claimed that the information he shared with the ‘Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO)’ was available in public domain and there was nothing confidential as claimed by the investigation agency.
The lawyer of the accused has claimed that the chargesheet has been already filed by ATS team in the matter and the investigation team has also seized electronic devices. Hence it can not be tampered with by Kurulkar. The court after hearing arguments from both sides has kept the matter for further hearing on August 9.
It may be noted that Pradeep Kurulkar was arrested by the ATS team from Pune following a case of espionage. It is alleged that Kurulkar was honeytrapped by a ‘Pakistani Intelligence Operative’ and during their conversation he shared some sensitive information about India’s defence projects with her. Kurulkar was the head of Research and Development Establishment (Engineers) – R & DE (E) laboratory and was suspended by DRDO soon after his arrest. He is currently in the judicial custody in the case.
