Pune: Do Not Discharge Sewage Into Stream In Wakad: MLA Ashwini Jagtap
Wakad, 15th April 2203: Chinchwad MLA Ashwini Jagtap instructed to not discharge sewage water into the natural stream flowing through the housing society areas at Wakad. She instructed the authorities that the sewage discharge should be stopped immediately.
The stream flowing near six to seven housing societies in Wakad has taken the form of a drain. Due to the sewage discharge, bad smell, and mosquito infestation increased.
Accordingly, MLA Jagtap along with municipal officials inspected the drain when citizens complained about their discomfort. Former corporators Vinayak Gaikwad, Sandeep Kaspate, Santosh Kalate, Ranjit Kalate, Sanjay Kulkarni, Assistant City Engineer, Environment Department, Vilas Desale, Executive Engineer, Building Department were present.
The wastewater released into this drain should be stopped immediately. The toilet built on the drain should be removed. Similarly, the blocked drain should be cleared. MLA Jagtap gave the above instructions to take measures to find a permanent solution to the problems caused to citizens due to sewage.
