Pune, 3rd June 2023: The Divisional Police Authority, Pune, has asked the Maharashtra state government to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged negligence of former police officers and personnel at Sahakarnagar Police Station, Pune, for failing to register a case. Chairman R. V. Jatale and Member B. G. Gaikar of the Pune Divisional Police Authority have issued these orders.

The complaint was lodged by Shobhana Mohan Dengle, resident of Dhankawadi, Pune, against former Police Inspector Anil Shewale and Police Sub-Inspector Bapu Khengre of Sahakarnagar Police Station.

Dengle had purchased a flat, number 11, on the third floor of a construction project by builder BD Construction. However, despite making the payment, she was allotted flat number 19 on the fifth floor instead of the designated third-floor flat. Dengle approached Police Sub-Inspector Khengre and Police Inspector Shewale, but no case was registered against the construction company.

Following the complainant’s written complaint regarding the non-filing of a case by the police, the Divisional Police Authority conducted a hearing and subsequently recommended a detailed inquiry by the state government.

The order further directs that copies of the order be provided to the additional secretary of the home department and the police commissioner of Pune.
