Pune: Disturbing Incident Unfolds in Khed Taluka: Doctor Assaulted, Molested in Dispute Over Profits
Khed, 19th March 2024: A disturbing altercation occurred in Kharabwadi, Khed taluka, as a medical shop owner demanded a share of profits from the neighbouring lady doctor, leading to a violent confrontation. The accused, Ishwar Naik, a resident of Chakan, initiated the altercation by insisting that the doctor owed him 50% of her profits, attributing her business success to his influence. However, the doctor vehemently disputed this claim, prompting a heated exchange between them.
Amidst the argument, Ishwar Naik’s behaviour escalated to physical violence, as he assaulted the woman’s husband and proceeded to molest and verbally abuse the doctor herself. The distressing incident transpired on Saturday (16th) around 8:30 pm, prompting the woman doctor to file a formal complaint with the Mahalunge Police Station.
According to police reports, the altercation unfolded while the complainant was attending to patients in her hospital. Ishwar Naik’s husband arrived at the hospital, demanding a share of profits under the pretext that the doctor’s success was owed to him. However, the doctor refuted these claims, leading to a confrontation. The situation deteriorated rapidly, with Ishwar Naik resorting to reprehensible behaviour, including molestation and verbal abuse directed at the woman doctor.
In response to the escalating violence, the woman doctor called her husband for assistance, only to witness him also becoming a victim of Ishwar Naik’s aggression. The Mahalunge Police have initiated an investigation into the matter to hold the accused accountable for his reprehensible actions and provide justice to the victims.
