Pune District Administration Assists Polish Citizen in Obtaining SIM Card
Pune, 3rd June 2023: When Roman Rozinski, a citizen of Poland, arrived in Pune for a yoga course, he faced a hurdle in acquiring a local SIM card. However, thanks to the proactive assistance of the Pune District Collector’s office, Roman’s problem was swiftly resolved, and he expressed his gratitude to the district administration.
Roman, hailing from the town in central Poland, had come to India with a deep passion for yoga. He joined the renowned Rammani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune to pursue yoga courses. As Roman needed a local SIM card to stay connected, he approached several shops in Pune but was repeatedly turned away by shopkeepers who cited his foreign documents as a reason for denial. Frustrated, Roman was advised to seek assistance at the collector’s office.
Undeterred by an ongoing meeting regarding the Palkhi Wari pilgrimage, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh and Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam promptly met with Roman to understand his problem. They verified his passport and other relevant documents and even reached out to the Iyengar Institute for confirmation.
Tahsildar Dhananjay Jadhav facilitated the process, and with the support of two employees from the collector’s office, Roman was successfully provided with a SIM card.
Roman shared his experience, stating, “Various yoga programs are organized in Poland, and my yoga teacher recommended the Iyengar Institute in Pune. I have come to Pune for a two-month stay, and while roaming around the city, I tried to obtain a local SIM card. However, I faced rejections at every place. But after visiting the collector’s office, the officials warmly inquired about my situation and helped me acquire a SIM card.”
Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam emphasized the district administration’s commitment to supporting individuals in need. She stated, “A citizen from Poland came to Pune for a yoga course and encountered difficulties while purchasing a SIM card. Understanding their requirements, we thoroughly examined their documents, including their passport, and provided them with the necessary assistance to obtain SIM cards.”
