Pune, 9th August 2024: Another case has been registered against Dilip Khedkar, father of former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer Puja Khedkar, in Pune. Dilip Khedkar reportedly argued with officials at the Pune District Collector’s Office to secure a cabin for his daughter Puja while she was still a trainee.

A case under IPC Sections 183 (resistance to the taking of property by the lawful authority of a public servant), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) has been registered at Bund Garden Police Station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil informed Punekar News about the incident. DCP Patil also mentioned that this incident occurred on 6th June 2024. Tehsildar Deepak Akade reported the incident to Bund Garden Police Station, and a case was registered earlier today.

At the time, the trainee officer was stationed at the Pune District Collector’s Office for training. During her training period, she demanded a separate cabin for herself. Additionally, she had installed a red beacon and the words “Maharashtra Government” on her private Audi car. A complaint was made by Khedkar to District Collector Suhas Diwase, who then sent a report on the matter to the Maharashtra State Government. Dilip Khedkar had exerted ‘pressure’ on the Collector Office officials to provide his daughter, Puja Khedkar, with a separate cabin. It is important to note that officers in training are not typically provided with separate halls or office staff. Despite this, Dilip Khedkar insisted on these facilities for his daughter.
