Pune, 3rd October 2023: In an electrifying display of skill and determination, Dhyanchand Academy has secured their place in the quarterfinals of the 7th SNBP All-India Hockey Tournament for Boys’ Under-16. The action unfolded at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, on Tuesday, October 3rd.

Pool-A: Dhyanchand Academy Dominates Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy

Dhyanchand Academy showcased their prowess with a resounding 5-0 victory over Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy. Captain Tushar Sharma opened the scoring in the 12th minute, setting the tone for the match. Ritesh Pandey added to the tally with a penalty corner conversion in the 28th minute. The team maintained their momentum, with goals from Manjeet Singh Chauhan (32nd – p.c), Mithalesh Yadav (48th), and Jayhind Yadav (57th) to secure their place in the quarterfinals.

Pool-C: SGPC Amritsar Claims Victory

Defending champions, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) from Amritsar, clinched a 6-1 win against Smart Hockey Academy in Pool-C. Goals from Jagjit Singh (14th), Gurpreet Singh (23rd), Harjit Singh (38th, 42nd, 55th), Rajdeep Singh (53rd), and Arshdeep Singh (58th) marked their triumphant return to the tournament.

Pool-F: Army Boys Sports Company Dominates Grassroot Hockey

In a remarkable display of dominance, Army Boys Sports Company secured their first win in style with a staggering 13-0 victory over Grassroot Hockey in Pool-F. Captain Manjeet led the charge with four penalty-corner conversions (21st – p.c, 42nd – p.c, 43rd – p.c, 46th – p.c), while his teammates also made significant contributions to the scoreboard.

Pool-E: Hockey Nashik Prevails Over Kolkata Worriers

Hockey Nashik emerged victorious in their Pool-E clash against Kolkata Worriers Kolkata with a final score of 5-1. Ibaad Patel (20th), Abhishek Mule (22nd – p.c), Ninad Gadhe (31st), Yadnesh Pagare (34th), and Atharava Gunjal (58th) ensured the win for their team.

Pool-G: Sukhjeevan Sports Academy Agra’s Dominant Victory

In a late Monday encounter, Sukhjeevan Sports Academy Agra displayed an overwhelming performance by defeating Anwar Hockey Society with a staggering 23-0 victory in Pool-G. Captain Manish Kumar contributed seven goals (14th, 16th, 30th, 51st, 52nd, 54th, 60th) to the astonishing scoreline, with Divyanshu Sharma completing a second-half hat-trick (57th, 58th, 59th).
