Pune: Dharna Protest Held By Federal Bank Employees For Their Demands
Wakdewadi, 30th June 2023: Today, employees of Federal Bank staged a dharna protest at Wakdewadi, demanding immediate implementation of the wage hike agreement and addressing various other concerns raised by the union. The demands included retaining contract workers, canceling insurance policies for bank customers, ensuring proper payment of bonuses to all employees, and recruiting additional staff members.
The protest took place in front of the Federal Bank Regional Office at Wakdewadi and lasted for five hours.
The protest saw the presence of prominent figures such as Vishal Thakkar, the National President of Federal Bank Employees Union, Sujith Raju, the General Secretary, Shirish Rane, the President of Pune Bank Employees Association, Shailesh Tilekar, the General Secretary, Sunil Nambiar, the Vice President of Federal Bank Employees Union, Suhas Sutar, the Pune Division President, and Akshay Hagwane, the Secretary, along with other union members, including Pratima Pujari.

Addressing the gathering, President Thakkar emphasized the importance of the central government’s attention to their demands and urged the bank management to give serious consideration to their concerns. He also stressed the need for immediate recruitment of clerks, peon, sweepers, and other positions, as well as the retention of contract workers and outsourced employees in the bank’s workforce.
Shailesh Tilekar highlighted the significance of the central government’s acknowledgment of their demands and called for the implementation of labor laws in the interest of the workers.
During the protest, speeches were delivered by Sunil Nambiar, Sujith Raju, Suhas Sutar, and others, expressing their grievances and urging authorities to take necessary action.
