Pune: Dhananjay Desai Arrested For Threatening And Attacking Farmer In Mulshi
Pune 2nd August 2023 : The Pune Rural Police have arrested Hindu Rashtra Sena chief Dhananjay Desai and others for allegedly attacking a farmer in Mulshi. Desai allegedly threatened to kill the farmer while demanding to transfer land on his name and attacked him with his around 15 of his associates.
The incident took place on Tuesday at Darwali village in district. The accused allegedly attacked the farmer with a metal rod and sharp weapon due to which he sustained injuries in his head. They later wielded the swords and machetes in the area to create fear among the villagers.
Police have booked Desai and 15 others on charges of attempt to murder, rioting and trespassing following an FIR registered at Paud Police Station. Six of the accused including Dhananjay Desai have been arrested by police in the case.
This comes months after Desai was acquitted by the sessions court in a case related to murder of Mohsin Shaikh in Pune. He was acquitted by the court in January this year. Mohsin Shaikh was allegedly attacked by members of Hindu Rashtra Samiti when he was returning home with a friend after offering prayers.
