Pune: Dengue Cases Rise In Pimpri Chinchwad To 23

Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th July 2024: Three new cases of Dengue have been identified in Pimpri Chinchwad, bringing the total tally to 23. Blood samples from 3,002 suspected Dengue patients were tested in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area, resulting in 23 confirmed cases.

Among these patients, there are 11 males and 12 females. Three patients from the same family residing in the Vivek Nagar area of Akurdi were admitted to a private hospital with symptoms resembling Dengue. Currently, their condition is stable, although the Dengue test results are still pending.

The PCMC administration stated that the patient’s condition was under control. During an entomological survey conducted by the PCMC Health Department, mosquito larvae responsible for Dengue were found at a construction site near the affected residential areas. Prompt measures were taken to destroy mosquito breeding sites through insecticide spraying and thermal fumigation. Additionally, a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on the construction developer.
