Pune: Delivery Boy Dies in Accident Involving Serum Institute’s Mercedes Car

Yerwada, 18th June 2024: Another tragic accident occurred at Golf Course Chowk in Yerwada, Pune, where a motorcyclist died after he came under the wheels of a luxury Mercedes car. The incident took place on Tuesday around 1 PM. The driver of the Mercedes has been detained, and the Yerwada police are in the process of filing a case.
The deceased has been identified as Kedar Mohan Chavan, 41, who worked as a delivery boy with a courier company. The driver of the Mercedes Benz, Nandu Arjun Dhavle, has been detained and taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
According to the police, Kedar Chavan was riding his two-wheeler near Golf Course Chowk in Yerwada around 1 PM when he slipped and fell. A Mercedes car coming from behind ran over him. Chavan, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment. The accident happened while he was on the way from Swargate to the airport.

His relatives said that Chavan had started working four months ago with the courier company. He was an artist who used to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and was fond of acting. He was the eldest, with one brother and three sisters. His father had passed away. His mother is a housewife. All his siblings were married.
