Pimpri Chinchwad, 31st July 2024: Delhiwala & Sons, responsible for the collection and disposal of dead animals in the city through the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Veterinary Department, has been blacklisted for misappropriating Rs 1,22,000 by manipulating work receipts. Additionally, a case will be filed against the management.

Dead animals were buried in open spaces away from human habitation, specifically at J Block, Gawli Matha in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area in Bhosari. When this area was transferred to MIDC, and with the approval of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), animal incineration began at the Naidu Pond’s large animal incinerator. A fee of ₹3,000 per large dead animal was paid to PMC through Delhiwala & Sons, with receipts for cremation charges submitted to the PCMC’s Veterinary Department.

Advocate Manish Kamble complained to the PCMC, leading to an audit of the combustion charge receipts. PMC’s Health Department found that Delhiwala & Sons had tampered with the receipts, showing a discrepancy of Rs 1,22,000 between the receipts submitted by the organization and the PMC’s combustion fee receipts. Following approval from PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Delhiwala & Sons has been blacklisted. Additionally, a case will be filed against the institution’s director. Despite receiving three notices, the organization failed to provide satisfactory explanations.
