Pune Dams Reach 100% Capacity Following Recent Rainfall

Pune, 5th September 2024: The Khadakwasla dam complex, which supplies water to Pune city, has reached its full capacity following consistent rainfall in the region. According to data from the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department, all four dams—Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon, and Temghar—are now at 100% storage as of 5:00 pm on September 5.

The total water content across the four dams currently stands at 29.15 TMC (Thousand Million Cubic Feet), a significant increase compared to last year’s level of 27.42 TMC (94.07%) at the same time.

Dam-Wise Details:

1. Khadakwasla Dam:
Rainfall: No rainfall recorded today
Total water stored: 1.97 TMC (100% full)
Water released over spillway: 27.80 TMC so far
Water level: 582.47 meters
Inflow: 62 cubic feet per second (cusecs)

2. Panshet Dam:
Rainfall: 14 mm
Total water stored: 10.65 TMC (100% full)
Water level: 636.27 meters
Inflow: 15 cusecs
Water released: 1954 cusecs

3. Warasgaon Dam:
Rainfall: 13 mm
Total water stored: 12.82 TMC (100% full)
Water level: 639.50 meters
No inflow recorded today, but 2250 cusecs of water was released.

4. Temghar Dam:
Rainfall: 17 mm
Total water stored: 3.71 TMC (100% full).
Water level: 706.50 meters
No inflow today, but 275 cusecs were released.

The total inflow into the four dams for the day stands at 77 million cubic feet (mcft).
