Baramati, 12th August 2024: The WhatsApp accounts of 20 office bearers of the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP), including Baramati MP Supriya Sule, have been compromised. The hacker is demanding $200 (approximately Rs 16,800) using Sule’s number, while the office bearers’ numbers are being used to demand around Rs 20,000. Sources suggest that the hacker is based in Bihar, and the police are actively searching for him.

Recent reports indicate a rise in cybercrimes, and even the four-time Baramati MP Sule has fallen victim. Sule reported that her phone was hacked yesterday and has since restored the device. She has filed a complaint with Yavat Police Station.

Police sources have confirmed that the cybercrime suspect is likely from Bihar. The ransom demands from Sule and other office bearers were to be deposited into an account belonging to a man from Bihar. The Yavat Police are currently investigating the case.
