Pune Crime Branch Raids Online Prostitution Ring in Viman Nagar, Agents Detained

Viman Nagar, 13th October 2023: The Social Security Cell of Pune City Police’s Crime Branch raided an online prostitution business operating in the Viman Nagar area. Two brokers have been detained, and cases have been registered against them. The police have also detained two young women from other states who were involved in the operation.

The accused brokers, identified as Deepak Sharyu Yadav (age 28, resident of Chandannagar, native of Jharkhand) and Ravi, were running the prostitution business online.

Constable Tushar Bhivarkar of the Social Security Cell filed a complaint at the Vimantal police station against the duo. Photographs of young women were circulated on social media platforms, and all transactions were initiated online. After payment was made, the women would be directed to meet clients at a hotel in the Viman Nagar area.

Information about the illegal operation was received by policemen Tushar Bhivarkar and Amey Rasal from the Social Security Cell. Acting on this information, a police team raided the Viman Nagar area. Two young women from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have been detained and sent to an observation house.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner Amol Zende, Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav, and Assistant Inspector Aniket Pote. Other team members involved in the action include police personnel Sagar Kekan, Sandeep Kolge, Baba Karpe, Rajendra Kumawat, and Reshma Kank.
