Pune, 20th July 2024: Dilip Khedkar, father of probationary IAS Officer Puja Khedkar, has been granted anticipatory bail until 25th July, subject to certain terms and conditions, by the Pune Court. Adv. Sudhir Shah, representing Dilip Khedkar, applied for the bail, which was granted by Pune District Sessions Judge A.N. Mare.

IAS Puja Khedkar was undergoing training at the Pune District Collector’s Office, but her brief tenure became controversial. When Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase sent a report of her misconduct to the Maharashtra State Government, she was transferred to Washim. She drew negative attention for installing a red beacon and writing ‘Maharashtra Government’ on her private car. Additionally, allegations surfaced regarding fraudulent documents submitted for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Exam, which are still under investigation. This brought her entire family into the spotlight.

A year-old video of her mother, Manorama Khedkar, allegedly threatening farmers and locals in Mulshi Taluka went viral. Following the viral spread of this video, a case was registered against her at Paud Police Station. Currently, Manorama Khedkar is under police custody for further investigation. Dilip Khedkar, Manorama’s husband and Puja’s father, is also implicated in the case but has not been arrested until now. Amidst these developments, his lawyer, Adv. Sudhir Shah, applied for anticipatory bail in the Pune District Court. The court has granted the bail until 25th July on a bond of Rs 30,000, subject to specific terms and conditions.
