Pune: Couple in Pimpri Chinchwad Accused of Rs 2.77 Crore Real Estate Scam

Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th July 2024: A couple from Pimpri Chinchwad created a fake apartment agreement and defrauded a 51-year-old man of Rs 2.77 crores by selling him 10 flats using fraudulent documents. Additionally, some of these flats were sold to other individuals. This scam took place from December 2019 to the present in Kharalwadi, Pimpri.
Shahzad Akhtar Anisuddin (51), a resident of Nehru Nagar, Pimpri, has filed a complaint with the Pimpri Police Station. The police have registered a case against Vijaya Namdev Padwal (48) and Namdev Baban Padwal (56), both residents of Link Road, Chinchwad.
A case has been registered against the couple under IPC Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 418 (cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may occur), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 421 (dishonest or fraudulent removal or concealment of property), 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (forgery for the purpose of committing fraud), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
According to police reports, although the perpetrators did not have the right to register files and grant legal documents, they sold 10 flats worth Rs 2,77,03,000 in Shivram Heights, Kharalwadi, Pimpri, to the complainant. These flats, with a combined area of 6,500 square meters, were sold to the complainant dishonestly and fraudulently. The money from the sale was kept by the perpetrators.
Additionally, after obtaining a special power of attorney from the complainant, they transferred the rights to two flats to Mohammad Habibullah Najir Ahmed, who, in turn, sold one flat to Shaheen Chagla and the other to Shamshuddin Allahbaksh Nair. Upon realizing the scam, the complainant reported the matter to the police. The Pimpri Police have forwarded the case to the Economic Offense Wing, with Police Sub-Inspector Ingale investigating the matter further.
