Pune, 2nd June 2024: Prices of all types of leafy vegetables have surged significantly due to a decrease in supply, with a bunch of coriander fetching Rs. 50 to 60 in the retail market. On Sunday, the vegetable section of the market yard received 80,000 pairs of coriander from Nashik and Latur areas and 30,000 pairs of fenugreek. The prices of all types of leafy vegetables, including coriander, fenugreek, and onion, have increased by 30 to 40 percent. One lakh judi (bunches) of coriander and 50,000 judi of fenugreek were received at the market yard. In the retail market, the price of one bunch of coriander is Rs. 40, while fenugreek is priced between Rs. 30 to 40 per pair. Good quality leafy vegetables are fetching higher prices.

Currently, the quality of leafy vegetables entering the market is not up to par. Due to a lack of water, cultivation has been affected, resulting in stained leafy vegetables.
